Fixing the streets of Amoji

Light up Amoji project

The revered “Olile Amoji” has returned in full glory, revived through the tireless commitment of a few determined sons and daughters of our homeland. The ancient saying “Efo nasom dike Olile Amoji” has come alive again. It means “my joy is as clean as the streets of Amoji,” “my gladness shines bright and clean like the streets of Amoji,” or, in the spirit of everyday humor, “my belle dey sweet me like Amoji streets.”

As night settles over the community, Amoji now reveals a new and radiant identity. High-quality solar lights illuminate the paths, giving our town a beauty that command both pride and nostalgia. This transformation was made possible by the collective support of Amoji people living across the world who refused to forget home.

A heartfelt congratulations to the Amoji Development Union for championing this remarkable achievement and proving, once again, that unity can light up even the darkest corners.
